Defensive lineman is a leader on the field, and at the BBQ grill

       
Oakland, Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 – Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour has established himself as a great leader on the field. Since being traded to the Raiders in 2009, Seymour has been an anchor on the defensive line for Oakland, and Seymour’s leadership style has been a perfect fit for the young Raiders defense.

        But Seymour is more than just a leader on the football field. During the off-season, you can find the defensive force holding court at the barbecue grill with his family and friends close by. Seymour is the father of five, and with a large extended family and many close friends; Seymour is a master barbecue chef who has created his own spices and sauces. Needless to say, if Seymour weren’t lining up in the trenches each Sunday, he’d be hosting a tailgate somewhere at an NFL stadium.

People naturally follow his cue. But he’s also gathering a huge following for his leadership around a different kind of “Q”. He has now launched his “On My Q” Contest encouraging fans to share their favorite tailgate recipes that are great for the grill. Richard is asking fans to post their favorite grill recipes on his facebook page, www.facebook.com/richardseymour92, for a chance to win an autographed Richard Seymour jersey. To be eligible to win, fans simply need to “like” Richard’s Facebook page and post an original grill recipe on his Facebook wall. The Facebook page launched 24 hours ago, and already has hundreds of recipe ideas submitted.

        “I have a ton of fun barbecuing for everyone,” he said. “I love how when it’s time to start cooking, all of my family and friends look forward to what I create. I’m in a comfort zone for sure when I’m grilling, and I really enjoy creating new sauces and spices. I hope On My “Q” creates that same sense of fun for the best fans in football.”
